General information

SOSA is a lightweight, self-contained core ontology for describing the interaction between sensors, actuators, and samplers with the properties, features, or phenomena they observe, act on, or sample. It provides classes and properties for Observations, Actuations, Samples, and the platforms and sensors involved, without depending on the more complex constraints defined in the full SSN ontology. SOSA is designed to be usable independently for lightweight applications, or as the foundational module underneath SSN for more expressive semantic sensor network modeling.”, This ontology is based on the SSN Ontology by the W3C Semantic Sensor Networks Incubator Group (SSN-XG), together with considerations from the W3C/OGC Spatial Data on the Web Working Group.
